The Lion King

Today I couldn’t resist anymore and bought “The Lion King”. If you don’t know what movie I’m talking about, you’re either way too young or didn’t have a childhood.

Well, yeah, so since you can buy the movie for a short period of time now, I was thinking about buying it, because I don’t have it and I freaking love this movie. t’s not just one of my favoritze Disney-movies, or one of my favorite animated movies, no, it ranks pretty high in my favorite movies of all time and I really really really wanted to have it, but I wasn’t so sure if I should buy it or let my uncle burn it for me.

Today when I saw the movie in the supermarket where my father and I were shopping, I was like: “Just shut up Disney and take my money.” Movie bought. I was really close to buying “The Rescuers Down Under” as well, because this movie looks downright amazing. “The Rescuers” might not have been such a good movie, but the sequeal is like a hundred times better. It’s a great adventure and the animation looks amazing, the szenes where the boy ride on the golden eagle is nothing but impressive. If you haven’t seen it, go check it out.

While we’re talking about movies nobody knows: one of my favorite Disney-movies is such a movie and it’s quite surprising, because it’s a pretty good movie with a somewhat dark tone to it and a good hero, a great villan and the finale szenes in big ben are really intense. I’m talking about “The Great Mouse Detective”. It’s really good, I promise.

But today evening I will drown myself in the greatness that’s called “The Lion King”.

Naruto chapter 567 – yay for kyuubi

And finally there’s a Naruto chapter I think of worth talking about, because now there’s something happening, I’ve been waiting for: Kyuubi is beginning to accept or maybe even like Naruto.

I have to admit, I have great interest in Kyuubi and especially in the relationship between Kyuubi and Naruto, because Naruto is a very likeable charakter and he has this ability to make people like him, although they’ve hated him before. Pretty much since the beginning, it was very clear one day Kyuubi and Naruto will fight alongside and respect each other, maybe even befriend each other and this might be it. This might be the moment I’ve been waiting since I’ve stared reading this manga (although that’s not such a long time, there are quite a lot chapter) and now I’m actually really interested what’s going to happen.

Ok, it’s obvious Kyuubi will rescue Naruto in case he can’t rescue himself. I’m not quite sure if he’s able to get out of there on his own or not. The fact that kyuubi doesn’t absorb Narutos charkra does give naruto a huge advantage, but he’s in a pretty bad situation right now, so Kyuubi might want to give Naruto a hand here – or a paw for that matter.

Our lovely eight-tailed-beast seems to know pretty well what’s going on in Kyuubi and it made me very exited. After that, we had the discovery that Kyuubi doesn’t absorb Naruto chakra anymore and Kyuubi remembering what Naruto told him in the past. Especially the later shows that Kyuubi doesn’t just give a damn and cooperates with Naruto because it benefits him right now, he actually reflects on Narutos words and this indicates they had an impact on Kyuubi.

Kyuubi is very stubborn, we don’t really know much about the other beasts, but Kyuubi seems to be especially wild and subborn. Like I said: we don’t know much about the other beasts, so this could be wrong, because we actually get to know Kyuubis character very well and the other beasts… well, not that much. I’m not surprised it took Naruto so long to get past Kyuubis stubborness and hatred, but it’s finally happening and try to imagine the power Naruto would gain from a Kyuubi who likes him and fights alongside him out of his own free will? This would be amazing, there’s so much potential.

This was, as a fact, one of the very few chapters that made me looking foward to the next chapter, because right now there’s somehting happening, I’ve been waiting for. I’m always hyped up when I see something with Naruto, because he’s probably my favorite character by now and he’s a really great shounen protagonist. Not as strong as a character such as Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist though, but he ranks pretty high and is an incredibly likeable character. If there’s one great thing in this Manga, it’s Naruto himself. Forget Sasuke, everytime Naruto is involved, I like it and his relationship with Kyuubi is a very important part of the story. So… yay? I’m looking foward to chapter 568, maybe I’ll post again after I’ve read it, it depends on the chapter. 😉

Bakuman 3rd Season

So, yay, Bakuman has gotten green lit for a third season next Fall. Now, I only need to catch up with Season 2… *cough* so I don’t end up accidentally not finishing it. Don’t look at me like that, it already happend once with Tegami Bachi Reverse. I still need to finish it. D:

But I’m really happy about Bakuman, because I’ve been reading the manga for a long time now and it’s still pretty good.  And when I say “a long time” I mean ever since the 9th oder 10th chapter was published and Bakuman was considered a secret gem with great potential. There have been times it was a bit… meh, but it never fails to come up with something amazing again, so I haven’t lost faith yet and I still enjoy it. I have to admit, I don’t read the japanese chapters anymore, because I decided I only want to read the german volumes since they started publishing this manga here (I usually read both, but in case of Bakuman… don’t know, it’s just the way it is). The latest volume here was volume 11 and oh my god was it great, one of the best so far, I can hardly wait until January when volume 12 comes out.

To make a long story short: is it good? Yes, both manga and anime, although personally I think the manga works out better. It’s normal the manga is better than the anime, but in this case there’s also the fact that a manga about writing manga somehow works better than an anime about writing manga, if you know what I mean.

Is it worth a thrid yeason? You can bet.

Now, if you excuse me, I have to watch a few Bakuman S2 episodes.

Zelda Skyward Sword – First impressions

So, my brand new Wii and Skyward Sword arrived! Yay!

So, let’s talk a bit about my first impressions: I like the graphics. Oh my god, how can I say that? Well, the more realistic graphics from Twilight Princess suited the game, because it was a pretty dark game to begin with, but Skyward Sword is (at least until this point) not nearly as dark as Twilight Princess. In fact, I don’t think it was dark at all… it’s pretty light hearted, so it’s ok to have more light hearted graphics. It’s a bit blurry yeah, but it’s ok, we don’t want another Windwaker, do we?

What I like the most about this game are the fighting mechanics. I’ve played Twilight Princess on the gamecube, so this is my first time with motion controls and it works greats. I’m absolutely thrilled, this is so much fun. To be honest, it took me a little bit of practice to get used to it, but it feels great to be able to have so much control over the sword in comparison to the A-button-mashing from the past. And it’s pretty cool you have to look where your opponent is blocking right now and strike from a different angle, it makes the fighting more interesting, but it’s still considerable easy. It doesn’t take long to get used to it and it’s great fun. I have my problems with blocking though. xD

Another part of the game I like a lot are those gigantic Birds. Riding them is even cooler than Epona and I freaking love Epona. I still suck at it, you’d probably find it very easy, but for me it’s pretty hard. Piloting the plain on Wii Sports Resort is a lot easier. xD

While there is a lot stuff I like in this game (breaking shields, potions you can upgrade, the sky-world, jumping off into the clouds, a Zelda with personality, creative creatures, the animation when Link runs up a wall, the scenery looks great…), sadly, there’s a huge bummer.  I’m 2 hours and 50 minutes into the game and I haven’t reached the first dungeon yet. The introduction just takes way too long and there are too many cutscenes. Everyone and everything is contantly stopping you. At the beginning, I reached a point where I was like: “stop talking please, just give me a sword and let me kill some monsters”. I really missed the good old sword fighing action, the first part of the game really takes to long and while I enjoy fighing and exploring so much, it’s kind of annoying when you’re stopped every few meters. On one hand, they take their damn long time to get the story rolling and to explain every little thing to you, but on the other hand, they don’t give you the time to expore and take action by yourself.

I’ve read reviews where people compared the level of Skyward Sword to Ocarina of Time, but to be honest: if Skyward Sword wants to reach Ocarina of Time, it really has to improve a lot, it especially needs to stop stopping me all the time. It finally needs to let me do something on my own. Ocarina of time just threw you into action. You know, like: here you are, there’s your sword, there’s the first dungeon, go and have fun. The entire story comes after that and this is what makes the beginning of Ocarina of Time so great. When I started playing OoT 3D, I instantly had the “OoT”-feeling, because it throws you right into action and this a really impressive start for the game. While I’ve probably already finished the first Dungeon in Ocarina of Time, I haven’t even reached it in Skyward Sword. It’s like I’m really dying to see the first dungeon, because the dungeons are what Zelda does best. I usually play this games for the dungeons, so could you please give me one already?
